22The FTZ Toastmasters Club celebrated a remarkable milestone with its 21st Installation Ceremony, marking over two decades of empowering individuals, fostering communication, and cultivating effective leaders. Guided by this year’s theme, “Transform Now,” the event highlighted the power of personal initiative and continuous growth within the organization.
The ceremony opened with an inspiring welcome address, setting a reflective and forward-looking tone for the evening. The gathering brought together past leaders, district officers, members, and distinguished guests to celebrate two decades of success and welcome the newly appointed Executive Committee headed by Amila Senanayake Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Sudath Fernando, Group Finance Director of ATG, addressed the audience, reflecting on the club’s 21-year journey. He commended the club’s founding vision and highlighted its transformation of uncertain beginners into confident speakers and public leaders. Comparing the 21st milestone to reaching adulthood, he emphasized the strength of the Toastmasters community in building lasting friendships and professional connections.
The evening featured key addresses by eminent guest speakers. Charuka Damunupola, Lead Information Security Engineer at Sri Lanka CERT and visiting lecturer, delivered an insightful session on cybersecurity awareness. Addressing modern digital threats, including deep fakes and data vulnerabilities, he urged participants to adopt stronger online safety measures. Additionally, internationally renowned speaker, trainer, and entrepreneur DTM Bernadine Jayasinghe delivered a powerful keynote address, encouraging members to embrace leadership opportunities and drive meaningful personal transformation.
The organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to their corporate sponsors, including DTM Anura Perera, Global Consultants Lanka Pvt Ltd, Smart Trading Asia Pvt Ltd, Shift Entertainment, Manferd Engineering Pvt Ltd, whose support contributed significantly to the success of the occasion. As the newly installed Executive Committee steps into office headed by Amila Senanayake, FTZ Toastmasters Club continues its legacy of providing a supportive platform for individuals to enhance their public speaking and leadership abilities, stepping confidently into a new chapter of growth. Jayant Mahajan, Managing Director Noratel International attended as Chief Guest. DTM Anura Nishantha Perera addressed the installation ceremony virtually form Canada.
