Sysco LABS recently launched ‘Sysco LABS Academy’, a learning and mentoring initiative that immerses school students in the possibilities and realities of the tech industry and modern workplace dynamics. Designed for Ordinary Level (O/L) and Advanced Level (A/L) students, the pilot, two-day program was held at S. Thomas' College, Bandarawela where a team of Sysco LABS experts delivered interactive workshops, leadership sessions and provided hands-on exposure to the tech-industry to inspire students to consider a career in technology.
The pilot program focused on building confidence, future readiness and career clarity, introducing students to the kind of thinking, collaboration and problem-solving that drive the modern workplace. Sessions covered a wide spectrum, from leadership and cybersecurity to engineering fundamentals, tech operations and how to navigate life after school.
Commenting on the launch, Rehan Anthonis – Senior Director, People Operations at Sysco LABS said: "At Sysco LABS, we believe in nurturing the next generation of technologists and industry leaders. The launch of Sysco LABS Academy is part of our long-term commitment to building a robust, future-ready talent pipeline that will bolster the country’s IT/BPM industry.
