Spa Ceylon and Shangri-La Colombo host exclusive Multi-Sensory Immersive Dining Experience with Mastercard
Spa Ceylon, the world’s largest Luxury Ayurveda chain, and Shangri-La Colombo, together with Mastercard, took fine dining to new heights by hosting an exclusive multi-sensory, immersive dining experience, on par with international standards. The event was a feast for all five senses, guiding guests on an immersive journey from sea to forest as the evening unfolded.
Curated around Spa Ceylon’s newly launched SeaVeda and ForestVeda wellness ranges, the dining experience seamlessly blended world-class culinary artistry with modern technology, enhancing the guest experience through immersive elements from start to finish. Ambient lighting, elegant décor, lush foliage, and screens projecting vivid seascapes and rainforest imagery from Sri Lanka, complete with immersive soundscapes, created the ideal atmosphere for the evening.
Spa Ceylon Co-Founder and Group Director, Shalin Balasuriya, then guided guests through a sensory wellness experience featuring the uplifting aromas and rich textures of the SeaVeda and ForestVeda ranges, enhancing the play of sight, sound, and fragrance, and setting the stage for the gastronomical feast that followed.
The expertly curated five-course menu by Shangri-La Colombo’s Executive Chef, Patrick Buttgereit, extended the sensory journey from sea to forest through a tastefully created culinary experience that perfectly reflected the event’s theme. The meal began with a vibrant celebration of the ocean’s harvest, showcasing its depth of flavour, before transitioning to dishes evoking earthy textures reminiscent of sandy shores and rocky coastlines. It then explored creations that honoured the forest’s rich abundance and island traditions, infused with Ceylon tea, spices, and locally sourced herbs. Each course was elegantly presented with glassware, dinnerware, and table linen from the Spa Ceylon Palaceware collection.
The Multi-Sensory Immersive Dining Experience provided a vibrant and fitting finale to ‘Wellness Month 2025’, a series of curated wellness experiences hosted throughout June by Spa Ceylon, in collaboration with Shangri-La Colombo and Mastercard.
