Sri Lanka’s overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index, was 2.2 percent in March 2026, data from the state statistics office showed.
The widely-watched Colombo Consumer Price Index rose 0.5 percent in March to 195.8 points from 195.3 points the previous month.
“This represents an increase in expenditure value by Rs 451.99 in the “Market Basket”,” the Department of Census and Statistics said.
“The month-on-month change was contributed by a decrease in Food items by 0.27% and an increase in Non-Food items by 0.52%.”
