Salesforce Unveils the Foundation for Building Trusted AI

As enterprises accelerate into the age of intelligent automation, Salesforce has drawn a clear line between innovation and integrity. The company has unveiled the Trusted AI Foundation for the Agentic Enterprise, expanding its platform architecture to ensure that every AI output is grounded in accuracy, context, and control.

A RAND study found that over 80% of AI projects fail to deliver value, often due to poor data quality, fragmented governance, and disconnected systems. Salesforce’s new foundation redefines this reality, creating a unified, explainable ecosystem where every AI agent operates on shared definitions, governed data, and transparent logic.

At its core lies a new enterprise-wide metadata layer that connects structured and unstructured data, supported by open governance and semantic consistency. Together, they form the trusted foundation that allows companies to move from cautious experimentation to responsible, scalable transformation.

Among the innovations announced are Data Cloud Context Indexing, which enables AI agents to interpret unstructured content such as contracts or diagrams through a business-aware lens; and Data Cloud Clean Rooms, which let companies collaborate securely without moving or duplicating data. Tableau Semantics creates a common business language for analytics and AI, ensuring that every definition and metric remains consistent. MuleSoft Agent Fabric offers enterprises a single framework to register, orchestrate, and govern every AI agent, cutting through the fragmentation of disconnected workflows.
