Lanka Ride Tour revived after 21 yrs.

The ‘Lanka Ride’ island-wide cycling tour, organised jointly by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Department of Sports Development which is due to commence on Friday (16), has been revived after a long hiatus of 21 years.

Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation is providing the insurance cover. The opening day of the race is set to start near Lake House, Colombo as a symbolic ride (Free Ride) to Peliyagoda, where the official race is set to begin.

Its first stage is set to conclude at Gannoruwa, Kandy while on the second day it is set to proceed from Kandy to Anuradhapura, while on the final day it is due to start from Anuradhapura via Puttalam Road to Colombo.
