Cinnamon Grand brings Avurudu traditions to life with festive celebrations

This Avurudu season, Cinnamon Grand Colombo invites guests to experience the warmth and joy of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year through a vibrant lineup of festive events for the whole family.

Kicking off the celebrations, the Avurudu-themed tea buffet at the Tea Lounge on 11 and 12 April offers a delightful spread of traditional sweets and local favourites. 

On 14 April, Nuga Gama transforms into a lively village setting with “Happy Avurudu,” featuring a traditional sweet table, authentic Sri Lankan lunch buffet, and classic Avurudu games that bring the spirit of the season to life.

The celebrations continue into the evening with a special New Year dinner buffet at Nuga Gama, showcasing beloved Sri Lankan festive dishes. 

From 12 to 15 April, guests can also enjoy seasonal highlights across the hotel, including Avurudu kavili pop-ups, curated festive hampers, and live cooking stations paired with traditional raban performances at the lobby.

Adding to the excitement, a lively Baila Night on 24 April at Nuga Gama, featuring Sri Band SL, promises an energetic evening of music, food, and celebration.
