Standard Chartered Sri Lanka has appointed Vindya Hettige, as Head, Legal and Head, Legal Client Coverage, effective 20 March 2026.
Vindya will join the Country Management Team and will be responsible in providing strategic legal advice and ensuring governance with respect to legal risk pertaining to business conducted by the Bank while promoting a culture and practice of compliance with legal standards, regulatory requirements and high ethical standards within the Bank in Sri Lanka.
Vindya is an Attorney-at-Law and Commissioner for Oaths offering over 18 years of experience. Having joined Standard Chartered in 2014, she has worked with multiple stakeholders, covering all businesses and functions, by providing strategic legal advice, recommendations in mitigating legal risk and ensuring governance around the legal framework. Before joining the Bank, Vindya was an integral part of the banking and finance team at Nithya Partners where she gained relevant experience. She holds a Master of Laws in Banking and Finance from the University of London, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Colombo.
