Sri Lanka tourist arrivals top 530,000 by Feb 25

 Sri Lanka’s tourism sector has recorded a strong start to 2026, with total visitor arrivals surpassing 530,620 by February 25, reflecting sustained growth across key international markets.

According to the latest provisional data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), the country welcomed 253,293 visitors during the first 25 days of February alone.

The figures show that India, the United Kingdom and the Russian Federation emerged as the leading source markets during the period from February 1 to 25, 2026. Germany, China, France, Poland and Australia were also among the top 10 contributors to tourist arrivals for the month.

Cumulatively, from January 1 to February 25, 2026, India generated the highest number of visitors with 93,847 arrivals. The United Kingdom followed with 57,762 arrivals, while Russia ranked third, contributing 48,312 tourists.

The continued momentum highlights the resilience of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry and signals sustained confidence among major international markets in the island destination.
