Sri Lanka’s inflation remains at 8% in September

Sri Lanka’s headline inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI), remained high at 8.0% in September 2026, according to the latest economic indicators released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The National Consumer Price Index (NCPI)-based year-on-year inflation was recorded at 8.1% in August 2026.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.2% during the second quarter of 2026.

The figures were included in the Central Bank’s Daily Economic Indicators published on October 8
