Purple Mile brings a walk and an evening fiesta to Colombo this October

Bishop’s College Past Pupils’ Association is bringing Bishopians together for a walk, a fiesta and a cause that will shape the school’s future.

There’s something about returning to Bishop’s College: the faces you recognise at once, the stories that pick up mid-sentence, and the feeling that no time has passed at all. On Saturday, 17 October 2026, past pupils of every generation can do just that at Purple Mile, an afternoon walk followed by an evening fiesta.

The walk sets off from Bishop’s College at 4 pm and makes its way to Rifle Green at the Air Force Grounds. From 6 pm, the pace changes. Food and beverage stalls open, Band OIC and DJ Kosala take over the music, and friends and families will have the opportunity to catch up over conversation and groove to the music. 

Organised by the Bishop’s College Past Pupils’ Association, Purple Mile will raise funds for infrastructure improvements that enhance the learning experience of students. It’s a celebration of the ties that bring people back to the Bishop's Community, with something lasting to leave behind for those growing up there now.

Walk tickets include entry to the fiesta and are priced at Rs. 5,000. Fiesta-only tickets are Rs. 3,500. A limited number of VIP tickets being sold at Rs. 10,000 include a double-decker ride along the walk route, with entertainment onboard.
