We are just a couple of weeks away from the conclusion of the Inter Club Rugby League where the crowning glory of the Cup and Plate champions will be decided in some crucial games on offer this weekend. Let’s have a look at the matchups of Week 13 in Round 2 (Super Round).
(All matches are scheduled at 4 p.m.)
Upcoming fixtures – Cup
7 February Saturday – Havelocks vs. Kandy at Havelock Park : After a great clash of styles in the hills during their previous meeting in mid January at Nittawela a newly rejuvenated Havelocks outfit will play host to a rather battle hardened yet vulnerable Kandy team at Havelock Park in a deciding fixture that will pave the path for the rest of the tourney. Kandy has been dominating this fixture except a very few wins by the ‘pink shirts’ in the last 26 years since the dawn of the new millennium. However after their stunning 28-14 win against CR, the lads from Havelock Park look very threatening against the defending champs.
Last meetings: Kandy beat Havies 36-26 at Nittawela (January 2026)
Kandy won 50-24 at Nittawela (March 2025)
Kandy won 24-20 at Havelock Park (January 2025)
Havelocks beat Kandy in 2019 at Havelock Park (28-26)
8 February Sunday – CH&FC vs. CR&FC at Racecourse : This will be the deciding return leg of the ‘Maitland Derby’ played for the Hadji Omar Trophy. CH is coming off a massive high after holding the league leaders, Kandy SC, to a 34–34 draw, while CR is looking to bounce back after a surprising loss to Havelocks. This will be a real tester for both the teams in what entices to be a classic Colombo rivalry brought back to life.
Last meetings : CH beat CR 34-32 at Longden Place (December 2025)
CR beat CH 40-20 at Racecourse (January 2025)
Cup segment – Standings (points)

2. CH & FC – 43
3. CR & FC – 42
4. Havelocks – 40
Upcoming fixtures – Plate
6 February Friday – Navy vs. Police at Welisara: The cops go in as firm favourites after some sublime performances in their previous outings. Navy SC must pull up their socks and regroup in order to put an end to their disappointing season which has kept them lying at the bottom of the table.
Last meetings: Police won 14-10 at Police Park (January 2026)
Police won 67-19 at Police Park (March 2025)
7 February Saturday – Army vs. Air Force at Panagoda: The table toppers Air Force will be looking to record yet another ‘W’ under their belt to strengthen their hopes of lifting the Plate title against a team that still hasn't found their rhythm. Army rugby had some patches of resurgence in the recent past but failed to impress in the crucial stages.
Last meetings: Air Force won 24-19 at Ratmalana (November 2025)
Army won 19-14 at Welisara (April 2025, Defence Services C’ship)
