Five honours secured in quick succession have extended Lanka Hospitals’ winning streak, bringing together recognition for clinical care, social responsibility, medical tourism and overall business performance. The results at the GlobalHealth Sri Lanka Awards 2026 and the National Business Excellence Awards 2026 reflect how a strong focus on patients, responsible healthcare initiatives and disciplined organisational management work together across the hospital.
The first three wins came at the GlobalHealth Sri Lanka Awards 2026, where
Lanka Hospitals was named Bariatric Service Provider of the Year in Sri Lanka,
Sustainability and CSR Excellence Service Provider of the Year in Sri Lanka,
and Medical Tourism Hospital of the Year in Sri Lanka.
The Bariatric Service Provider of the Year in Sri Lanka award recognises Lanka Hospitals’ position as the country’s leading private hospital for bariatric surgery. Its team has performed the highest number of bariatric surgeries among private hospitals in Sri Lanka, while Lanka Hospitals remains the only centre in the country to have completed 450 successful weight loss procedures. The recognition reflects the expertise of its multidisciplinary medical teams, consistent patient safety standards and continued focus on achieving positive, sustainable outcomes.
Recognition for Sustainability and CSR Excellence is grounded in programmes that extend the hospital’s clinical capabilities to communities. Through Lanka Hospitals Suwa Sathkara, the hospital has responded to public health needs with timely medical interventions. In partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Colombo Metropolitan and Colombo West, Lanka Hospitals facilitated 100 urgent heart surgeries for children, helping them receive essential cardiothoracic care without prolonged delays. Following Cyclone Ditwah, the hospital also established medical clinics and treatment centres in affected areas, providing treatment and relief to communities whose access to healthcare had been disrupted. These initiatives demonstrate how Lanka Hospitals translates social responsibility into meaningful clinical action.
The Medical Tourism Hospital of the Year award recognises Lanka Hospitals' ability to provide international patients with access to advanced treatment, clinical teams and coordinated support throughout their care. It also reflects the confidence the hospital has built beyond Sri Lanka through consistent service standards and investment in medical expertise, infrastructure and technology.
Following this recognition, at the National Business Excellence Awards 2026, Lanka Hospitals was recognised as Joint Winner in the Healthcare, Hospital Sector, and Joint 2nd Runner Up in the Overall Large Category. These two honours place its healthcare performance within the discipline of organisational leadership, governance, operational effectiveness, and sustainable business management.
Dr. R. P. Sanjaya Ratnayake, Group Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals, said, "These five honours are an important recognition of the standards our teams work to maintain every day. From complex bariatric care and international patient services to community medical support and responsible governance, each achievement comes from the combined efforts of our consultants, nurses, clinical support teams and employees across the Group. We are proud of this momentum, but our priority remains unchanged: to provide safe, high quality and patient centred care, while continuing to strengthen the expertise, technology and systems that make better outcomes possible."
These five honours provide a strong foundation for the next phase of Lanka Hospitals’ growth. The hospital will carry this momentum forward by setting higher organisational benchmarks and remaining responsive to the evolving expectations of those it serves.
