DFCC ALOKA and Fonterra collaborate to strengthen financial access for Women in Dairy Farming

DFCC ALOKA and Fonterra collaborate to strengthen financial access for Women in Dairy Farming

DFCC Bank, through its dedicated women’s banking proposition, DFCC Aloka, has partnered with Fonterra to enhance financial access and business support for female dairy farmers in Sri Lanka. As part of this collaboration, DFCC Bank has empowered 30 female dairy entrepreneurs through the Women’s Empowerment Project in Dairy Farming, equipping them with the financial resources and skills needed to expand their businesses and enhance milk production.

The initiative brought together DFCC Aloka, Fonterra, and key industry stakeholders to address critical challenges faced by women in dairy farming. Representatives from the Ministry of Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation, the Department of Animal Production and Health, and private sector partners participated in discussions on improving financial access, modernising farming techniques, and strengthening market opportunities for women-led agribusinesses. The collaboration highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in supporting female entrepreneurs in building financially sustainable and resilient businesses.

Through DFCC Aloka, female dairy farmers can access a comprehensive suite of financial solutions, including working capital facilities to support daily operations, preferential loan rates to ease financial pressures, and business advisory services to drive strategic growth. Additionally, digital banking tools facilitate efficient financial management, enabling informed decision-making. By integrating financial literacy initiatives alongside these services, DFCC Aloka ensures that dairy sector women have the knowledge and resources to sustain and expand their businesses successfully.

DFCC Bank invites women in dairy farming to explore how DFCC Aloka can support their entrepreneurial journey. With customised financial solutions and ongoing advisory support, DFCC Bank remains committed to fostering financial independence and business success among women entrepreneurs.
