Sri Lankan students in Australia stage ‘Prabhaswari’

Sri Lankan students residing in and pursuing higher education in Australia staged a concert ‘Prabhaswari’ at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo on January 3

These students, who were born in Australia and study in various disciplines at universities there, learn the Sinhala language and culture at the Perth Sinhala School. They travelled to Sri Lanka to perform this concert after training under renowned dance instructors Dr. Ravibandhu Vidyapathi and Samanthi Vidyapathi, who had visited Australia to conduct lessons.

Thirty-two female students and three male students participated in the dance performance.

Dr. Ravibandhu Vidyapathi, Samanthi Vidyapathi, Professor Mudiyanse Dissanayake, musician Rohana Weerasinghe, and dancer Chandana Wickramasinghe attended the event. Perth Sinhala School Chairman Senaka de Silva and Principal Dilhani Hapuarachchi were also among the distinguished guests.
