Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General partners Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2026 safeguards lives

Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC), the nation's trusted insurer, was the official insurance partner of the Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2026, Sri Lanka's premier national cycling event organised by the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The race has been held annually since 1999. and has grown into one of the country's foremost cycling events. The 2026 edition also celebrates the 27th consecutive year held in honour of the Sri Lanka Air Force's 75th anniversary.

This year’s race covered three days and more than 500 km, drawing over 150 participants including foreign cyclists. It was also a testament to the Air Force's commitment to promoting competitive spirit and national unity. 

The race began on 27 February from Negombo, concluding the first day in Chilaw. Day 2 continued from Chilaw to Dambulla, with the final leg departing Dambulla and finishing at Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters on 1 March. A Women's Race also took place on 1 March, from Meerigama to Air Force Headquarters, a key development in promoting women's participation at national-level sport.

The coverage enabled participants, spectators and other stakeholder involved to attend with confidence, protected by safeguards.
