The Sri Lankan rupee depreciated further against the US dollar today (21), with the dollar’s selling rate surpassing Rs. 350 for the first time since March 2023.
Latest exchange rates released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka showed the US dollar buying rate at Rs. 342.63 and the selling rate at Rs. 354.03.
The rupee has come under pressure amid multiple global and domestic factors, including uncertainty linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Yesterday (20), the US dollar buying rate was recorded at Rs. 332.23, while the selling rate stood at Rs. 342.70.
