In line with the national vision of accelerating digital transformation and financial inclusion, the National Savings Bank has launched an extensive Digital Drive campaign, taking banking services directly to the people through town storming initiatives and digital literacy programmes across key locations.
Adopting a strong face-to-face engagement approach, the campaign bridges the gap between technology and public by creating awareness among the customers on the convenience, safety, and accessibility of digital banking solutions, with special emphasis on NSBPay and NSB QR payments.
NSB’s BTL Digital Drive has already covered key locations across the Southern and Western regions, successfully engaging large volumes of customers in high-footfall areas. The campaign continues to build strong momentum with ongoing activations across the Western Province, further expanding outreach and strengthening digital adoption.
Recent activations at prominent locations such as Colombo Fort Railway Station and Liberty Plaza witnessed significant public engagement, where customers were guided through digital banking services with hands-on demonstrations and real-time onboarding support.
Importantly, this progress reflects just the first six days of campaign activity, and the initiative is continuing to gain traction, with gradually increasing customer responses and growing interest in digital platforms.
Digital banking has become a key enabler of modern economies, offering customers the ability to perform transactions anytime, anywhere. In Sri Lanka, digitalization plays a vital role in enhancing financial inclusion, improving efficiency, and providing greater access to banking services, particularly for underserved communities.
Recognizing this importance, NSB’s Digital Drive focuses not only on promotion but also on education, empowering customers with the knowledge and confidence to adopt digital banking solutions.
A key highlight of the campaign is the promotion of NSB QR, aligned with the Government’s impetus towards a cashless and digitally connected economy. NSB QR enables customers to make fast, secure, and convenient payments by simply scanning a QR code via their mobile
Special focus is being placed on onboarding small micro merchants, particularly in high-density commercial areas, enabling them to become a part of Sri Lanka’s rapidly evolving digital payment ecosystem.
