MEGAKEM launches MEGAPROOF HI-BUILD, setting a new benchmark in Sri Lankan waterproofing

MEGAKEM Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., a proud subsidiary of Wardena Venture Holdings, recently unveiled MEGAPROOF HI-BUILD, a new high-build elastomeric waterproofing coating, at a formal launch event held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 8 January 2026. The launch marks a significant milestone for Sri Lanka’s construction chemicals industry, introducing the first locally developed product of its kind designed to meet the country’s demanding climatic conditions. Developed and manufactured in Sri Lanka, MEGAPROOF HI-BUILD represents a strategic advancement in locally engineered waterproofing solutions. The product has been formulated following extensive internal development and benchmarking against established international products, positioning it among the highest technical performance specifications currently available in the market. Designed to deliver durability, flexibility, and long-term protection, MEGAPROOF HI-BUILD addresses the growing demand for reliable exposed waterproofing solutions suited to tropical weather conditions.

The launch event brought together industry professionals, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders from across the construction sector. The programme featured a ceremonial opening, a traditional cultural performance, the formal unveiling of the product, and a technical presentation highlighting the engineering principles and performance characteristics behind MEGAPROOF HI-BUILD. Speaking at the event, Chairman of Megakem Engineering, Mr. Ashoka Siriwardena, emphasized the importance of developing construction solutions grounded in local understanding. He noted that MEGAPROOF HI-BUILD reflects MEGAKEM'S long-term commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s construction ecosystem through innovation, technical rigor, and locally driven manufacturing excellence.
