IRCSL Suspends Sanasa Life Insurance Registration for Three Weeks

Sanasa Life Insurance Company PLC has announced that its registration to carry out long-term insurance business has been suspended by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL).

According to a disclosure made to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), the IRCSL issued a letter dated 5 December 2025 (Ref: IRCSL/DG/LEG/2025/12/754) invoking Sections 18(1)(d), (f), (g) and (h) of the Regulation of Insurance Industry Act No. 43 of 2000 to impose the suspension.

The suspension took effect on 5 December 2025 and will remain in force for three weeks, until 26 December 2025, in line with Section 18(2) of the Act.

Sanasa Life stated that the disclosure was made in compliance with CSE Listing Rules. The notice was signed by the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer, Nuwanpriya Gunawardena.
