Veyangoda CC in comfortable victory

Fine batting performances by V. Chinthaka and Tilina Nipuna and coupled with a splendid bowling by Abdul Rahuman and Sajith Madushanka, respectively steered Veyangoda Cricket Club (CC) to a 111-run win over Ace CC Kadawatha in the final of the Gampaha District (50 overs) tournament, played at the MB grounds, Godigamuwa, Katana recently. 

Veyangoda CC taking first lease of the wicket made 297/8 thanks to fine knocks of 65 by Chinthaka off 70 balls including 10 fours and Nipuna who struck a quick fire 38 off 23 balls. 

P. Mihiranga and Chatura Sadis were the pick of the bowlers for Ace CC capturing 2 wickets each. 

Ace CC in reply, were bowled out for 186 despite a top score of 47 off 42 balls by Swarnajith Samaraweera as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Abdul Rahuman and Sajith Madushanka bowled tidily and shared the bowling honours claiming 3 and 2 wickets respectively, with the former being adjudged the Man of the Match.
