United Tractors Sponsors 2025 Pin & Pam Fernando Trophy at Royal Colombo Golf Club

United Tractors & Equipment (Pvt) Ltd (UTE), the authorised dealer for Caterpillar® machinery in Sri Lanka since 1947, will once again sponsor the Pin & Pam Fernando Trophy 2025, which will be held from July 11 to 18 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC). This annual tournament, held in partnership with RCGC, celebrates the legacy of two of Sri Lanka’s most iconic figures in golf W. Pin Fernando and Pam Fernando and continues to be one of the most respected events in the country’s amateur golfing calendar.

The Pin Fernando Trophy, first introduced during the club’s centenary year, pays tribute to W. Pin Fernando’s contributions to Sri Lankan golf. Over the course of his career, he was crowned Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Champion 10 times, won the Sri Lanka Open twice, and the All India Golf Championship twice. He also became RCGC Club Champion a record 19 times, was a member of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R\&A), and was posthumously awarded Honorary Life Membership of RCGC. The Pam Fernando Trophy, inaugurated in 2014, honours Pam Fernando, a pioneering female golfer and wife of Pin Fernando who broke barriers in women’s golf in Sri Lanka. She made history by being listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest female golfer to win a national championship. This year’s competition will follow the familiar format of a Stroke Play Qualifier, followed by Match Play rounds. The Top 16 men from the qualifier will compete for the Pin Fernando Trophy, while the Top 8 women will compete for the Pam Fernando Trophy.
