Taste of Ceylon: A Sri Lankan Food Festival at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo

Courtyard by Marriott Colombo is set to take guests on a culinary journey across the island this September, as Beira Kitchen & Terrace hosts Taste of Ceylon — a four-night Sri Lankan food festival running from 3rd to 6th September, 7:00pm to 11:00pm. For anyone searching for a distinctive dining experience in Colombo this season, this Sri Lankan food festival offers something rarely found on one table. A Festival Across Four Regions Sri Lanka's food changes as its landscape does. The hill country does not cook like the coast, and the north carries a spice memory the south does not share.

Taste of Ceylon brings four distinct regional stories to the same table, every night of the festival. The produce-forward cooking of Uva, the lakeand-forest flavours of the Central region, the classic, ceremonial dishes of Kandy, and the bold, tamarind-and-chilli-driven cuisine of the north. Each represented by a chef who calls that cuisine home: Chef Chanaka Denuwan showcasing the South, Chef Chamara Samarakoon featuring the central region, Chef Sugath Suraweera presenting Uva, and our very own Chef Milton Fernando, celebrating the north. Speaking about the festival, Suranga Peelikumbura, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, shared, "Sri Lanka's regional cuisines rarely get to share one table. Taste of Ceylon is our way of bringing four different corners of the island to Beira Kitchen every night of the festival, so our guests can taste the country the way its people do — one table, four regions, in a single evening."

Beyond the dishes themselves, Taste of Ceylon is designed as a chance to sit with the island's culinary diversity in a single, unhurried evening, the kind of discovery that usually takes a journey the length of Sri Lanka to make. With the full spread available across all four nights, guests are welcome to return more than once, or settle in for one complete evening across all four regions. For those exploring things to do in Colombo this September, it's an evening built around discovery as much as dinner. Where and When Taste of Ceylon runs nightly at Beira Kitchen & Terrace, Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, from 3rd to 6th September, 7:00pm to 11:00pm, with all four regions on offer each evening.
