Sysco LABS Presents Product Nexus: Exploring the Future of AI-Driven Product Innovation and Discovery

Sysco LABS recently brought together professionals across Product Management and Business Analysis through “Product Nexus” — a platform within its broader Nexus series designed to foster industry dialogue and knowledge sharing around emerging trends shaping the future of enterprise technology.

Supported by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Colombo Chapter as Community Partner, the session explored how Artificial Intelligence is transforming product discovery, design, and delivery within enterprise environments, while reinforcing the growing importance of product thinking as a driver of innovation, business value, and smarter decision-making.

The interactive session focused on how AI is enabling organizations to identify opportunities faster, make smarter decisions, and build products with greater clarity, speed, and impact. Discussions also explored the evolving role of product thinking in driving innovation, collaboration, and business value creation in an increasingly AI-first landscape.

The event featured a knowledge-sharing session by Tharange Abeysinghe, Senior Group Product Manager, alongside a panel discussion with Fawaz Haniffa – Lead Product Manager, Dilshan Weerabahu – Lead Product Manager, Atheek Razick – Senior Lead – Business Analysis, and Amila Jayawickrama – Associate Manager – Business Analysis. The discussion was moderated by Vishmie Perera – Business Analyst, while Chamodi Wijewardana – Senior Product Manager and Malsha Mayadunne – Product Manager served as facilitators for the session.

Speaking on the importance of cultivating innovation-driven thinking within enterprise environments, Nilupa Kiringoda, Senior Director – Delivery said, “Product thinking today extends far beyond building features. Within an enterprise environment, it plays a critical role in driving innovation by encouraging teams to think strategically about business problems, customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation. Product also partners closely with the business to coinnovate, ensuring solutions are grounded in real customer and commercial impact. As AI continues to reshape how organizations build and deliver solutions, conversations like Product Nexus are important in helping professionals challenge conventional approaches, adopt a more innovation-led mindset, and unlock new possibilities across the enterprise.”
