St. Anthony’s College Kandy OBA honours distinguished alumni at 116th AGM

The St. Anthony’s College, Kandy Old Boys’ Association (OBA) held its 116th Annual General Meeting on 3 October at the Thilanka Hotel in Kandy, recognising distinguished alumni for their achievements and contributions to the country and their alma mater.

The event was held under the patronage of Bishop of Kandy Most Rev. Valence Mendis, while a Holy Mass preceding the meeting was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara.

Eight distinguished old boys representing different fields were presented with recognition awards during the event. Among those recognised were Director and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of the Derana Media Network (TV Derana) Thushara Perera and Major General Eric Nishantha Kurukulasuriya.

The OBA also recognised student achievement, presenting a certificate and gifts to Sahen Amesh for his outstanding performance at the most recent Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.

St. Anthony’s College Principal Rev. Fr. Dushantha Perera, OBA President A.J.M. Mushtaq, General Secretary Desmal Perera, other officials and a large number of association members attended the event.
