Sri Lankan Apparel sector delegation participates in Exposure visit to CISMA 2025 in Shanghai, China
Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Shanghai, China successfully organized a Technology Upgardation & exposure visit parallel to China International Sewing Machinery & Accessories Show (CISMA) 2025 from 24th to 28th September 2025 in Shanghai, China for the Sri Lankan Apparel sector companies.
The exposure visit was strategically planned to coincide with China International Sewing Machinery & Accessories Show 2025, the world’s largest professional sewing machinery show, held at the Shanghai New International EXPO Center in Shanghai, China. The show has showcased smart and sustainable solutions in the sewing and textile industry, with a focus on innovations in pre-sewing, sewing, and post-sewing equipment, as well as CAD/CAM systems and automation.
Key highlights included the introduction of new JWEI multi-layer intelligent cutting systems, Hikari intelligent tubular left-cut interlock sewing machines, and new Veit fusing machines. The event emphasized "Smart Sewing Empowers New-Quality Industrial Development" and attracted professional buyers and exhibitors, creating an active marketplace for industry collaboration and development.
The Sri Lankan delegation included representatives from Lanka Garments Manufacturing Co. Pvt Ltd, Courtaulds Trading Company Pvt Ltd, Nishara Export & Import (Pvt.) Ltd, Jumeirah Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, JIA Moda (Pvt.) Ltd, Intrend (Pvt) Ltd , Onivja Global Research Pvt Ltd and Kobithan Garments Pvt Ltd. accompanied by the representative of EDB.
The event provided the Sri Lankan delegation with valuable opportunities explore the latest in global sewing technologies and network with international industry leaders
The delegation also visited one of the largest apparel manufacturing company “ Hodo Group” in Wuxi City in Jiangsu Province to observe their manufacturing with latest automation technologies and also visited Fabric Market in Keqiao, Shaoxing City.
The Technology Upgradation and Exposure Visit to the China International Sewing Machinery & Accessories Show (CISMA) 2025 was successfully completed, providing valuable insights and exposure to Sri Lankan apparel exporters and manufacturers.
Participants were introduced to the latest technological innovations and advanced machinery in the global apparel sector. This visit created a significant opportunity for local manufacturers to explore and adopt cutting-edge technologies to upgrade their production facilities.
It is expected that the programme would support the enhancement of the competitiveness of Sri Lanka’s apparel industry in the international market by encouraging innovation, efficiency, and modernization in production processes.
