Sri Lanka Win Men’s T20 Bronze at Asian Games

Sri Lanka won the men’s T20 cricket bronze medal at the 20th Asian Games 2026, defeating Bangladesh by 63 runs in the bronze medal match.

Sri Lanka also secured the silver medal in the women’s T20 cricket competition, making it a two-medal haul for the country in Asian
Games T20 cricket.

Batting first in the men’s bronze medal match, Sri Lanka scored 165 for nine in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 102 in 17.3 overs, giving Sri Lanka a convincing 63-run victory.

Tharindu Ratnayake was the leading scorer for Sri Lanka with 65 runs, while captain Sahan Arachchige contributed 33. With the ball, Wanuja Sahan and Nuwan Thushara stood out with two wickets each, returning figures of 2 for 27 and 2 for 28 respectively.

In the final, defending champions India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs to retain the men’s T20 gold medal for a second consecutive time in Asian Games history.
