Sri Lanka stocks end the week flat

Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange ended the week flat, CSE data showed, with the benchmark All Share Price Index down 1.05 point at 22,567.63.

The S&P SL20 was down 0.02 percent, or 1.11 points, at 6,204.62.

Ceylon Tobacco Company (up 1.88 percent at 1,813.25 rupees), John Keells Holdings (up 0.50 percent at 20.20 rupees), Dipped Products (up 2.70 percent at 57 rupees) were top positive contributors to ASPI.

Central Finance Company (down 1.35 percent at 255.25 rupees), Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka (down 1.46 percent at 151.75 rupees), Richard Pieris and Company (down 1.64 percent at 36 rupees) were negative contributors to ASPI.

Market turnover was 2.068 billion rupees. Capital goods led turnover with 360.9 million rupees, followed by food, beverages and tobacco with 354.6 million rupees.

Crossings were recorded in ACL Cables (287,546 shares), Ocean Lanka (500,000 shares), Commercial Bank of Ceylon (504,620 shares), and Central Finance Company (115,171 shares).

Regionally, India’s Nifty 50 index gained 1.02 percent to close at 23,925.30, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index advanced 0.24 percent to 25,978.07.
