Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited, Sri Lanka's most trusted general insurance provider, has launched Adventure Plus, the first personal accident insurance plan uniquely designed for tourists visiting Sri Lanka. It strengthens the country's tourism sector and contributes to economic development.
Adventure Plus Insurance Plan is a unique plan that provides protection to tourists from medical insurance, accident cover and emergency evacuation during dangerous activities like trekking, cyclocross, water sports and jungle activities. It has plans that cannot be accessed by tourists who already have insurance. The existing travel policies can be modified and the Adventure Plus insurance plan is designed to address the deficiencies found therein.
Sri Lanka's tourism industry has developed with diversity and attracts tourists in many aspects such as Karaiyora water resources, wildlife protected forests and adventure resorts. In addition, it provides a direct way for all tourism operators, agents and travelers to expand their security in a simple and inexpensive way.
As the National Insurer, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited is continuously offering innovative products to support national priorities, protect communities and contribute to Sri Lanka's progress. Prepared in partnership with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, the project will promote the positioning of Sri Lanka as a destination for promising, cost-effective and adventure tourism.
Adventure Plus insurance is priced at US$8 per person for 30 days and offers services such as medical cover, accident cover and emergency evacuation for adventure sports and activities not normally covered by travel insurance plans. It provides guests with safety during high-risk activities such as trekking, cyclocross and water sports, ensuring an opportunity to explore Sri Lanka's diversity with confidence.
This project is expected to be received through the offices of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority at the airports. From the moment the tourists arrive and land in Sri Lanka, information related to this insurance program is expected to be disseminated through the black counters at the airport through the Sri Lankan Tourism Development Authority.
