Sri Lanka awaits IMF nod for USD 700mn tranche

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board is set to review Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility programme today (27).

The fifth and sixth reviews will assess progress, with approval expected to release about $700mn.

The IMF has said cost-recovery pricing for electricity and fuel, with support for vulnerable groups, is required for approval.
