26Senior defence officials of Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia held talks on future cooperation in air defence and capability development.
Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara met Lt. Gen. Mazyad bin Sulaiman Al-Amro in Riyadh, according to the Ministry of Defence.
The meeting took place during the Deputy Minister’s visit to the World Defence Show 2026.
Discussions focused on experience sharing, staff talks, participation in defence forums and specialised training opportunities for Sri Lankan personnel.
The Sri Lankan delegation also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support during Cyclone Ditwah.
