A Sri Lankan defence delegation led by Deputy Minister Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) held high-level meetings in Japan during a two-day visit.
The visit included participation in the 2nd Japan–Sri Lanka Defence Dialogue and meetings with Japanese Foreign and Defence Ministry officials.
Discussions focused on strengthening defence cooperation, maritime security, and capacity building for Sri Lanka’s defence sector.
Both sides also addressed collaboration on combating transnational maritime crimes and enhancing Coast Guard capabilities.
