RCGC Monthly medal sponsored by Jetours

The RCGC Monthly Medal Golf Tournament, sponsored by travel partner Jetours, concluded recently with more than 280 golfers taking part.

The tournament featured competition across multiple divisions at the Royal Colombo Golf Club course.

A strong field participated in the event, continuing the club’s long-standing golfing tradition as one of Asia’s oldest golfing institutions.

Udula Wijesinghe emerged as the standout performer of the tournament by clinching the Overall Winner’s title with an impressive nett score of 65, securing victory on the back-nine countback. 

Wijesinghe also completed a memorable double by winning the Division B Nett title while adding the Division B Gross crown with a fine gross score of 77. Abdul Wadood Reza finished runner-up in the division.

Division A witnessed another competitive contest with Manjula Chandrasoma taking the Nett title on 68, while Sachin De Silva finished runner-up on 70 nett before going on to secure the Gross title with an outstanding 69 gross.

Luke Mutukrisna dominated Division C by winning both Nett and Gross honours with scores of 65 and 89 respectively. Mevan Perera secured the runner-up position in the Nett category.

In the Seniors Division, Sunimal Salgado claimed the Nett title with 68, edging out Wijitha Perera, while Kumar Boralessa topped the Gross category. 

Gamini Jayaweera completed a double in the Masters Division by winning both Nett and Gross titles.

Special awards were presented to Vinuda Weerasinghe for Longest Drive and Seelanatha Kuruppu for Closest to the PIN.
