Mountain bike endurance challenge in Anuradhapura

The second annual Yodha Ela International Mountain Ride 2026, under the concept of cycling for all, will be held from opposite the historic Isurumuniya Raja Maha Viharaya in Anuradhapura today, commencing at 7.00 a.m.

National and international mountain bike cycling competitors are set to participate in this event, which is conducted to mark World Tourism Day 2026. The competitors will ride along the historical Tissa Wewa tank bund alongside Yoda Ela to Kala Wewa reservoir where the historical Yoda Ela canal commences.

The Yoda Ela Mountain Ride 2026 is an international mountain biking and adventure tourism event that brings together sport, cultural heritage, nature and sustainable tourism in the heart of Sri Lanka’s North Central Province (NCP).

This mountain bike endurance challenge is jointly organised by the NCP, Anuradhapura Municipal Council, Provincial Department of Sports, Anuradhapura District Cycling Association, Sri Lanka Cycling Commissaires Association and Punarudha Sports Club.
