The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a project to build a resilient, high-quality maize-based food system to improve Sri Lanka’s Thriposha program.
The initiative, supported by the World Food Program and funded by a US$10 million grant from the Korean International Cooperation Agency, will benefit around 7,500 maize farmers in Anuradhapura, Moneragala, and Badulla.
The project is planned for implementation from 2025 to 2029, aiming to strengthen maize quality and the Thriposha supply chain.
