LVG Esports was crowned the best team at Play Expo 2025, Sri Lanka's largest Esports tournament organized by Gamer.LK, sponsored by Munchee Savory Platinum and powered by Coca-Cola.

Play Expo 2025, organized by Gamer.LK with the Platinum Sponsorship of Munchee Savory and powered by Coca-Cola, recently concluded successfully. LVG Esports team, who performed exceptionally well across various events, emerged as the Best Esports Clan of the tournament. This marked a crucial milestone in the history of Sri Lankan Esports.

The two-day event, which saw thousands of players and fans gather to watch top-notch competitions across PC, mobile, console, simulator and virtual reality, showcased the growth and maturity of the Sri Lankan Esports scene. Not only was it a grand event, but Play Expo once again stood out as a challenging venue that tested the players’ preparation, teamwork and commitment to competition.

The most notable award in the tournament, which was created to recognize consistent talent across various Esports events, was the 'Best Esports Clan' title. Not limited to winning a single event, LVG Esports won the championship by achieving high results in both team and individual competitions, demonstrating their organizational strength. Their ability to play under pressure in team events, as well as the importance of regular training and well-coordinated teamwork, was well-established.

Play Expo 2025 featured over 25 Esports titles, with over 2,500 players competing in various categories.

In the team competitions, Kothu Mechanics won the League of Legends title, LVG ESPORTS' ZEALOT ESPORTS won the Honor of Kings title, YAKUZA ESPORTS' TEAM YKZ won the Rainbow Six Siege X title, Maximum e-Sports' SL RIDERZ GHOST won the Free Fire Squad title, EQZ ESPORTS won the PUBG MOBILE Squad title, IMMORTAL ESPORTS' Death Sentence won the DOTA 2 title, Xiphos Esports' Team Catalyst won the Mobile Legends title, Xiphos Esports won the Valorant title, and Team misR won the Call of Duty 4 title.

In the singles category, the Clash Royale title was won by Ishith Chethiya Fernando of Phoenix GaminG, the Tekken 8 title was won by Dinusha Cooray of LVG ESPORTS, the eFootball Mobile title was won by Kalindhu Bandara of IMMORTAL ESPORTS, the F1 25 title was won by Kevan Samarajeewa of Toxic Thunder, the FC 26 title was won by Dishan Nithyanandan of Phoenix GaminG, and the Mortal Kombat title was won by Rashad Amir of Xiphos Esports.

The women’s esports competitions also attracted special attention. Catalyst eSports FE won the Women’s Mobile Legends title, while Dilini Prasantika won the Women’s PUBG MOBILE Solo title, Tharushi Perera of Soul Of Devils won the Women’s Free Fire Solo title, and Rumman Dul of LVG ESPORTS won the Women’s Mortal Kombat 1 title. This is a great testament to the growing representation and competitiveness of women in the Sri Lankan Esports scene.

Speaking about the tournament, Gamer.LK CEO Ravin Wijayathilaka said: “This year’s Play Expo clearly demonstrated how far the Sri Lankan Esports scene has come. The high standard of competition, the diversity of players and the enthusiasm seen across all the events show that the country’s Esports system is heading in the right direction. The Play Expo tournament, which was held as a ranked tournament of the Sri Lanka Esports Association (SLESA), once again served as an official platform for the national Esports system. As the performance in this tournament directly impacts the National Rankings, it was a great opportunity for players and teams to progress within the formal Esports system in Sri Lanka and represent the national team in the future.

This time, Munchee Savory acted as the Platinum Sponsor and Coca-Cola powered the tournament.
