Loyola College Honours Indo-Lanka Chamber of Commerce & Industry President with Prestigious Global Excellence Award

The Loyola Alumni Awards are prestigious honours presented by Loyola College, Chennai, to distinguished alumni who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and impact in their respective fields. These awards span various categories, recognizing leadership, public service, innovation, and global influence. Among them, the Global Excellence Award is one of the highest distinctions, reserved for alumni who have made outstanding international contributions and elevated the college's reputation on a global stage.

With close to four decades of experience in the apparel trade M. Raghuraman, was the CEO of Corporate Marketing at Brandix Apparel and prior to that Director/CEO of Linea MAS the marketing arm of MAS Holdings.

At present he is a Consultant to Brandix Apparel, Senior Advisor to Alix Partners- Based in the US, which specializes in enterprise improvement and executing turnarounds of distressed and healthy companies. Director Lux Asia - The largest retail and e-commerce in Asia Pacific’s network in beauty and luxury brands.

The Loyola Alumni Award in the Centenary year was awarded to Mr. M. Raghuraman, President of the Indo-Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was honoured with the Loyola Global Excellence Award—a significant accolade that highlights his exceptional role in marketing and branding and an intrinsic understanding of CRM in the apparel industry along with his role in fostering cross-border economic collaboration and strengthening regional business ties

His selection is especially meaningful as he was the only recipient worldwide to have received the Global Loyola Alumni Award in the centenary year making it a rare and prestigious honour for a Sri Lankan national.

Mr. Raghuraman now joins an elite group of awardees, which includes globally recognized personalities such as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (former President of India, awarded as an honorary alumnus), Viswanathan Anand (Five-time World Chess Champion), and other influential leaders in business, governance, academia, and civil society. His recognition not only celebrates personal excellence but also reflects the growing stature of Sri Lankan professionals on the international stage.
