Govt. to launch centralised GovTech app marketplace to modernise digital procurement

The Government has announced plans to develop a centralized GovTech App/Service Marketplace as part of its Digital Public Infrastructure initiative. The project aims to streamline and modernize the procurement of digital solutions across government agencies.

A Cabinet decision on 21 October, 2025, approved the implementation of this platform under the third work stream of the Digital Transformation Program, Phase 1. Currently, fragmented procurement processes have led to inefficiencies, with individual institutions acquiring digital tools independently.

The proposed digital marketplace will serve as a one-stop platform for Government entities to access and procure verified technology solutions, promoting transparency and efficiency.

It will also introduce a merit-based selection process and expand opportunities for suppliers, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), by lowering entry barriers and encouraging fair competition.

Submitted by the President in his capacity as Minister of Digital Economy, the project will be executed in three phases from 2026 to 2027, with an estimated total cost of Rs. 563 million.
