Dr. Dexter Fernando was unanimously elected as the 14th President of the Association of Justices of the Peace of Sri Lanka at the 29th Annual General Meeting held on 22nd June 2025 at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research & Training Institute, 114, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7. Dr. Fernando is the youngest President elected since 1993. He previously served as the General Secretary from 2013 to 2018 & as the Deputy President from 2018 to 2024 and is an old boy of St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena. The JP Association was established in 1993 & registered as an NGO no. 63808. The objectives of the JP Association are liaison with the Government; promote better understanding among all communities. Guide, encourage, administrate & manage the welfare of the JP’s & increase the performance of their duties and inaugurate provincial/district branch associations to be affiliated to AJPSL.
