Distribution of Grade 1 activity books underway for 2026

The distribution of activity books for Grade 1, covering the second and third terms of 2026, has begun, the Ministry of Education announced.

Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa stated that the process is expected to be completed in all schools by 30 April.

Curriculum awareness programmes and teacher training sessions for Grade 1 have already been conducted for Provincial Primary Subject Directors, Teacher Advisors, Teacher Trainers, and Classroom Teachers.

Provincial Directors have been instructed to complete any additional training required by 16 May.

The Ministry emphasised that school principals should ensure that any portions of the Grade 1 first-term syllabus not yet covered are addressed during the second school term.
