Dipped Products opens Rs. 4.2 b glove plant in Katunayake EPZ

Hayleys Group glove maker Dipped Products PLC (DPL) yesterday said it has begun operations at its newest manufacturing facility in the Katunayake Export Processing Zone, built at an investment of Rs. 4.2 billion.

The plant began operating on 8 October, 2026 as part of DPL’s expansion plans, the company said. The facility is expected to expand DPL’s capacity to manufacture value-added gloves for export, strengthening Sri Lanka’s position in high-value rubber exports and adding to foreign exchange earnings, it said.

The company operates five manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka and two in Thailand, with dedicated marketing and distribution arms in Italy, France, Poland, India, and the Middle East. Headquartered in Colombo, the company employs a workforce exceeding 18,207 across its manufacturing and plantation sectors.
