CSE Opens February on a Down Note

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced a significant downturn on the first trading day (02) of February, with major indices closing lower amid moderate activity.

The benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) declined by 130.63 points, or approximately 0.55%, to close at 23,681.68. Similarly, the S&P SL20 Index, which tracks the top 20 companies by market capitalization, fell by 43.95 points to settle at 6,597.20.

The day's trading recorded a total turnover of Rs. 5.17 billion, reflecting continued participation despite the downward movement in prices.
