China to supply 100 electric luxury buses to Sri Lanka to reduce pollution

China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, announced that China will soon provide the country with 100 modern luxury buses powered by electricity. 

The Ambassador explained that this initiative aims to help reduce environmental pollution caused by traditional fuel-powered vehicles. Each bus is estimated to cost approximately $225,000. 

Ambassador Qi Zhenhong made the announcement during meetings on the 22nd with prominent Buddhist prelates, including the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera, and the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera.
