The Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (CCI), the statutory apex body representing the country’s construction sector, launched the Build Sri Lanka 2027 – Housing & Construction International Exhibition on October 9, at the Galle Face Hotel.
The premier event, set to take place from May 7-9, 2027, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, serves as Sri Lanka’s principal platform for driving growth, technological adoption, and investment in the built environment
The official launch ceremony brought together top executives, developers, contractors and business leaders from across Sri Lanka’s corporate and industrial landscape
The event was led by CCI President Manilal Fernando, alongside Chief Guest Eng. Thusith Gunawarnasuriya, Chief Executive Officer of Siam City Cement (Lanka) Ltd, representing one of the nation’s foremost building materials manufacturers. Build Sri Lanka 2027 will bring together a vast ecosystem of local and international stakeholders, including manufacturers, suppliers, property developers, architects, engineers, contractors, investors and financial institutions.
The upcoming 2027 showcase will feature the latest advances and solutions across key industry verticals: High-performance construction materials, doors, windows, roofing, flooring and interior finishes, housing developments, architectural and engineering design and real estate investment options, advanced construction machinery, tools, and site technology, smart building automation, renewable energy, energy-efficient solutions and sustainable building materials and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) solutions, banking, real estate financing and professional consultancies.
Designed as a strategic marketplace, the exhibition offers local and international companies a high-visibility venue to introduce new products, expand market reach and forge commercial partnerships. The three-day event is expected to attract a broad cross-section of attendees, ranging from industry contractors, engineers and government policymakers to prospective homeowners and individual builders. The platform also aims to facilitate foreign direct investment by serving as an entry point for international firms looking to participate in Sri Lanka’s infrastructure development.
During the launch ceremony, the CCI formally recognised past sponsors and longstanding industry partners for their sustained contributions to previous editions of the Build Sri Lanka series. The evening also included the official presentation of sponsorship commitments for the 2027 exposition
Concluding the launch, the CCI leadership extended its gratitude to all participating partners, exhibitors and industry stakeholders, emphasising that cross-sector collaboration remains essential to ensuring long-term resilience and growth in Sri Lanka’s construction sector. (MFJ)
