CEAT Kelani recognised once again at National Business Excellence Awards 2025

Honoured as Joint Runner-Up in ‘Manufacturing – Other’ category in the Extra-Large enterprise segment

CEAT Kelani Holdings, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturer of pneumatic tyres and the company behind the country’s highest-selling tyre brand CEAT, has once again been recognised for business excellence, emerging as Joint Runner-Up in the ‘Manufacturing – Other Sector’ category at the National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) 2025.

Competing in the Extra-Large category for enterprises with annual revenue exceeding Rs 10 billion, CEAT Kelani’s performance at this year’s competition reaffirms its standing as one of Sri Lanka’s most professionally and efficiently managed businesses.

Now in its 20th year, the NBEA is the flagship awards programme of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, which celebrates outstanding business achievements and promotes global standards of excellence across the country’s corporate landscape. CEAT’s continued success at this prestigious competition underscores the company’s commitment to organisational excellence and its contribution to the national economy.

The evaluation criteria for the awards covered seven pillars of excellence: Strategy & Leadership, Corporate Governance, Capacity Building, Performance Management, Local and Global Market Reach, CSR and Environmental Sustainability, and Business & Financial Results.

CEAT’s submission highlighted its integrated Quality-Based Management (QBM) system, a proprietary Total Quality Management (TQM) framework which instils a culture of continuous improvement. The company’s QBM philosophy is built around Customer Focus, People Focus, and Process Focus, ensuring that every employee contributes towards the achievement of business goals and delivery of superior value.

Backed by extensive customer insight-driven product development, CEAT utilises data from multiple touchpoints including Usage and Attitude Tests, Brand Health Studies and Satisfaction Surveys, to refine its offerings. Advanced technology from CEAT’s Research & Development centres in Germany and India is deployed to design products that deliver superior control, mileage, comfort, fuel economy and safety.

The company’s strong focus on quality and innovation has translated into real-world impact, including the introduction of new product patterns and feature upgrades across its portfolio. CEAT Kelani has also invested significantly in expanding manufacturing capacity, particularly in the passenger car radial segment, to meet rising demand.

CEAT’s strong performance at the NBEA this year adds to its previous wins, including category victories in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2024, when the company was awarded both the Manufacturing – Other Sector and Local Market Reach titles.

This latest accolade adds to CEAT’s growing list of honours, including being named the ‘Most Loved Tyre Brand’ in Sri Lanka in 2025 by LMD, and being adjudged Best Managed Company in the Tyre Category for two consecutive years by the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers (CPM) of Sri Lanka.

CEAT Kelani Holdings is the largest manufacturer of pneumatic tyres in Sri Lanka, producing nearly half of the country’s total requirement in this product segment and significantly reducing reliance on imports. The company also exports around 20% of its production to 16 countries, and supplies over 150,000 tyres annually to the local vehicle assembly industry as original equipment for over 30 vehicle models across 11 brands.
