Blue-Chip Index Leads Market Higher in Ninth Straight Gain

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) recorded a notable rise in its market indices today (06), extending its upward momentum for the ninth consecutive trading session.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) posted a significant gain of 278.16 points during the day, reflecting a 1.21 percent increase compared to the previous trading session. Accordingly, the ASPI closed at 23,292.91 points at the end of the day.

A key highlight of the trading session was the strong performance of the S&P SL20 Index, which surged by 2.19 percent. The index gained 136.41 points to close at 6,363.85 points by the end of trading.

Market turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 6.59 billion, indicating continued investor activity in the local equity market.
