30% of Sri Lanka’s adults affected by mental health issues

About 30% of Sri Lanka’s adult population is affected by mental health issues, Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Madhushani Dias stated.

She noted that a significant proportion of those affected are individuals aged 60 and above.

Dr. Dias stated that Sri Lanka’s elderly population is increasing rapidly, while awareness of mental health issues among older adults remains limited.
