Emirates’ largest ever drop included 834 backpacks and stationary essentials distributed to SOS Children’s Villages, Madrasati, Jewels and Al-Hussein Social Foundation Society
As part of its commitment to empowering Jordanian youth and their educational aspirations, Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has distributed 834 handcrafted children's backpacks alongside essential school supplies through its dedicated ‘Aircrafted KIDS’ initiative. The bags were distributed to four organisations across Jordan, including SOS Children’s Villages, Madrasati Initiative, Jewels, and Al-Hussein Social Foundation Society.
Education is one of the most powerful drivers of social mobility and economic empowerment, which inspired Emirates to launch this initiative distributing limited-edition handcrafted backpacks and essential stationary from its ‘Aircrafted KIDS’ collection to students in Jordan. The initiative equips students with learning essentials, reinforcing Emirates’ longstanding dedication to empowering young people in the communities it serves.
Mohammad Bin Hafiz, Emirates’ Country Manager for Jordan and West Bank, said, “Education is a fundamental driver of progress, and through Aircrafted KIDS, we want to help children have access to resources necessary to build a better, successful future. We have been a part of Amman’s skies since the beginning of our operations, dating back to 1986 and share a long and storied history in this country. We are proud to have invested in not just scaling our operations over the years but also in the local community.”
“We are grateful for our partnership with Emirates. It goes beyond mere distribution of schoolbags; it carries a message of hope, joy, and learning. These bags have touched our students’ hearts, inspiring them to dream bigger and strengthening their sense of responsibility towards our world”, said Tala Sweis, Madrasati’s Director.
Areej Khatib, Fund Development and Communications Director at SOS Children’s Villages, stated: “A child’s school bag holds more than just books, it carries the beginning of a dream and marks the first step toward a future we believe in and strive to build with every child.”
The backpacks, part of the airline’s upcycled ‘Aircrafted by Emirates’ collection, are handmade by the skilled Emirates Engineering team. Over 50,000 kg of reclaimed materials from the airline's iconic Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft currently undergoing complete cabin refurbishments were used for the collection.
The launch of Aircrafted KIDS in Jordan is part of a wider Emirates initiative that has already seen more than 3,700 bags donated in 10 countries including Egypt, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. By bringing Aircrafted KIDS to Jordan, Emirates connects more than destinations, it invests in people, using its global reach to create tangible opportunities that empower tomorrow's generations.
