Sri Lanka finds Indian Coronavirus variant inside quarantine

Sri Lanka has found the Indian SARS-Cov-02 variant in a returnee inside a Coronavirus quarantine centre for returnees researchers said.

Sri Lanka has earlier found the British variant in multiple locations in the community, which has led to third wave with around 1900 cases being found daily.

Earlier Sri Lanka had milder versions such as a Nordic one where large numbers were asymptomatic.

On May 07, Sri Lanka reported the highest daily death toll of 19, taking the total to 764.

There were 18,811 persons under medical care by May 07 and authorities are scrambling to supply new rooms.
