Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka PLC, the operator of PickMe, is ushering in a new era of innovation and technology-led growth, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), according to Chairman Ajit D. Gunewardene.
“This next chapter is one of innovation, sustainability, and scale. We are entering an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered future,” Gunewardene stated in the company’s 2024/25 Annual Report. “Our consistent investment in technology and intellectual property, which is in excess of Rs. 1.0 billion annually, is about to yield exponential returns. AI is set to significantly enhance our operations by driving smarter decision-making, improving user interactions, and enabling more intuitive, efficient experiences that will redefine industry standards.”
The Chairman added that PickMe is well-positioned to lead this transformation, as the future of ride-hailing, delivery, and logistics becomes increasingly intelligent, adaptive, and data-driven.
The company reported a robust 70% increase in profit before tax for FY24/25 and proposed a total dividend of Rs. 2.30 per share for the year, reflecting strong investor confidence following its oversubscribed IPO in September 2024.
